Cadillac’s entry into Formula 1® is rapidly approaching,
with the iconic American brand set to make its historic debut as the Cadillac Formula 1® Team at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 8.

 

Today, General Motors President Mark Reuss unveiled the Cadillac Formula 1® Team’s Special Edition testing livery
at GM’s new global headquarters, the Hudson’s Detroit building, marking a major milestone on Cadillac’s journey
to the Formula 1® grid. The livery will be used at the all-team Shakedown Week in Barcelona, Spain, January 26 – 30, ahead of unveiling the final livery on February 8.

 

CADILLAC FORMULA 1® TEAM NAMES AMERICAN STAR COLTON HERTA AS TEST DRIVER

Nine-time NTT INDYCAR® SERIES race winner Colton Herta will serve as a test driver as the Cadillac Formula 1® Team prepares to join the grid. For Herta, 25, the 2026 season will mark a return to the European racing ranks, as the second-generation racer made his European racing debut in 2015.

 

Coming off his seventh INDYCAR
season, Herta has recorded nine wins, 16 pole positions and led over 1,000 laps in his 116 career starts. He also holds the title of youngestdriver to win an INDYCAR SERIES race and pole position, a feat he achieved in 2019 at the Circuit of The Americas™—home of the F1® United States Grand Prix.

The Cadillac Formula 1® Team unveiled its new logo in a video released ahead of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix held May 4, 2025. The video is the public’s first look at the branding that will debut when the team joins the FIA Formula One World Championship grid in 2026.

“Cadillac is honoured to share the F1 stage with the best luxury brands from around the world. It’s a brand whose legacy on and off the track is filled with innovation, technological precision, and timeless beauty.”
