HOW TO

HOW TO HEAT OR VENTILATE/COOL YOUR SEATS

Here are general operation instructions for Heated, Cooled and Ventilated Seats (if equipped). Refer to your vehicle information to see how your vehicle is equipped and for specific instructions.

To operate the Heated, Cooled or Ventilated seats (if equipped), the vehicle must be on. These features can be controlled with:

  • Physical buttons marked with the pictured icons located on or around the centrestack, door, seat or armrest 
  • Digital controls in the centre display Front Command Centre or Rear Command Centre 

If your vehicle has Rear Outboard Heated Seats, they can be controlled with:

  • A physical button located on the rear of the centre console 
  • Digital controls in the Front Command Centre or Rear Command Centre (if equipped)

HEATED, COOLED OR VENTILATED SEATS

Heats up the seatback

Ventilates the seats.

Ventilates the seats. These seats have a fan that pulls or pushes air through the seat — the air is not cooled

HEATED SEAT OPERATION

Vehicles with Physical Buttons

  1. With the vehicle on, press the Heated Seat button on or around the centrestack or door, or on the back of the centre console for Heated Rear Outboard Seats.
  2. The feature will activate at its peak intensity. Press the button to lower the intensity.
    • Indicator lights show the setting (three for the highest setting and one for the lowest).
  3. Repeat presses will reduce heating and eventually turn off the feature.

Vehicles with Digital Controls

  1. Open the Seating Controls in your centre display, Front Command Centre or Rear Command Centre (if equipped).
  2. You will see an icon of a seat with wavy lines through the seat bottom. Tap it to activate your heated seats.
  3. Tap the icon again to lower the intensity of the heating.
    • Indicator bars show the setting on-screen (three for the highest setting and one for the lowest).
  4. Repeat presses will reduce heating and eventually turn off the feature.

COOLED AND VENTILATED SEAT OPERATION

Vehicles with Physical Buttons

  1. With the vehicle on, press the Cooled or Ventilated Seat button on the centrestack or door.
  2. The feature will activate at its peak intensity. Press the button again to lower the intensity.
  3. Repeat presses will reduce cooling or ventilation and eventually turn off the feature.

Vehicles with Digital Controls

  1. Open the Seating Controls in your centre display, Front Command Centre or Rear Command Centre.
  2. Tap the icon that looks like a seat with a fan or snowflake above it.
  3. Tap the icon again to lower the intensity of the cooling or ventilation.
  4. Repeat taps will reduce cooling and eventually turn off the feature.

Note: Some vehicles are equipped with an Automatic Heated, Cooled or Ventilated Seats feature that automatically controls the seat heat’s intensity and ventilation based on interior temperature. This feature is adjusted in Settings.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE VEHICLE IS IN REMOTE START, HEATED SEATS ARE ON AND THEN THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON?

If Automatic Heated, Cooled or Ventilated Seats are enabled, the seat transitions from its remote-start setting to the ignition-on seat setting. Since conditions for both features vary, the seat's comfort setting might change. If the Heated, Ventilated or Cooled Seats do not have the available automatic functionality, the seats will remain off.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN REMOTE START AND THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON?

If Automatic Heated, Cooled, or Ventilated Seats are available for the vehicle and enabled, the seats will be triggered based on the automatic heated and cooled seats’ ignition-on seat level. 

IF THE PASSENGER SEAT IS EMPTY, WILL IT STILL AUTOMATICALLY HEAT OR VENTILATE?

No. Even if they are enabled, Automatic Heated, Cooled or Ventilated Seats won’t activate on the passenger side unless the passenger seat is occupied. You can manually adjust unoccupied passenger seats.
